Braving The Cold For Gender Diversity
Despite it being a pretty “darn” cold day, we managed to have a good turnout at the Gender Diversity Group this Sunday, held as usual in the new location of the 2110 Center for Gender Diversity (much thanks to them!)
We discussed a variety of things, from simple things to stuff like the now pulled TV show “Work It” and the tampon ad that not only offended many in the gender variant community but even some cisgen females (those who’ve not had to transition). Also talked about was perhaps setting up a separate night out for the group, perhaps in the village or perhaps at an event. More to come on that as soon as ideas are gathered!
All in all a good group!

Bondage Practice… Can We Say Lotsa Fun?
Bondage practice group was held at Contessa’s place this past Sunday and a nice turn-out it was. Thanks to Sasha, the temporary group leader, for bringing her enthusiasm and very naughty bondage positions that got all of our attention … little did you know lol. Great ties and collaboration by our two regulars, you know who you are! Oh, and welcome to our new attendee who came all the way from Japan… she knows what I mean *wink*. I’m still waiting for your photos from the group… please send!!!
Please note we are looking for a permanent leader for this group. Someone with enthusiasm and charm who is willing to volunteer for 2 hours every month to welcome members to our practice group.

Rope it!
On Wednesday December 14, Lord Saxnot gave his rope bondage workshop. Remember – before you take the Advanced Rope Bondage workshop you will need to have taken the Basic first!
There was a good attendance, and those taking it caught on pretty fast on the subject. Besides how to tie, where to tie and not to tie was also taught (not everyong knows you shouldn’t in some areas!)

Gender Isn’t Binary
The Gender Diversity Group met on Sunday, Dec 11, and while sparsely attended (holiday season does that! lol!) the discussion was lively and interesting.
One thing that has become apparent is that those who are gender fluid need to be protected by law. It is hard enough being transsexual in a workplace, but those who are gender fluid can face some even harsher discrimination.
For some gender is binary, for example male or female, but for some it is more than that. And society does tend to ignore this, despite the fact that it is increasing.

NOTE: Holiday Schedule

Great Food, Great Company!
On Saturday, December 10, the ALCC held its Annual Holiday Brunch at 1000 Grammes (formerly Kilo).
Also on display were photographs of Theresa from Sweden, in latex in public. The photos are wonderful, and the photos below don’t quite capture how good they are (you have to see them in person!)
The food was wonderful, the chat lively, fun, and interesting. It gave some a chance to catch up with friends we haven’t had a chance to catch up with in a while, and for some to make new ones!
There was even a game of trivia, the four winners received individual cards with gifts inside (yours truly won one, and just loves her card and gift!).
One huhyuge showing!
What a record turnout for the Polyamory Group at the ALCC…. 20 wonderful people!
Amelia spearheaded today’s topic of Time Management. Very important for everybody, for relationships, and for polyamorous relationships in particular. A variety of strategies were shared, with many personal anecdotes thrown in for good measure.
I’m always struck by how the principles polyamorous people use can be very helpful in all relationships.

Droppin’ on in!
On sunday November 6th was our monthly drop-in day. This was the busiest drop-in day we ever had. We had quite a few new people showing up. Some board games were played. A lot of information was exchanged. Some new friendships were made. And excellent day overall.

Please note that due to holiday scheduling many of our regular groups, workshops and events will be held at different dates and times. As well, the ALCC will be closed from Dec. 19 to Jan. 2. A new schedule will resume as of Jan. 3, 2012.
