BDSM & The Law
BDSM & The Law, Sunday November 13, 2011
Incredibly how little we really know about BDSM and the law and more importantly, what is really legal and what we can get in trouble for. Very important workshop! If you missed it, sign up for last chance Nov.23rd.
Three points I took away:
1) BDSM IS NOT ILLEGAL IN CANADA!!!
2) It is very important that “STOP”, “NO” and “YES” really mean what they mean. Safewords are not reliable!!!
3) You have a responsibility as a parent to keep your kinky things locked and out of sight of your children.

Very well said. Would also had , that being ”educated on legal matters” is as important, if not more important , than learning how to use a flogger ! Let us remember , ignorance of the law is never a defence. Judging from the initial overly positive comments and the numerous questions/situations raised by the participants, this basic course with time, will become even more relevant for anyone in the lifestyle.

Is is illegal to charge for BDSM services?
BDSM services are a grey area, usually there is no problem for those who provide, as there is usually NO sex involved (escorts and massage parlours the exception… most “Pro Dommes” have NO sexual contact involved).
Legal is of course something very important, but so is learning HOW to do things. Far too often we see (we as in those in the lifestyle) people who put another persons health in danger, thus why it is EXTREMELY important to learn how to bind properly, use a flogger properly, etc etc etc.
Both are important, but learning how to actually DO things SAFELY is very very important.
