November 13th Bisexual Group

The Bisexual Group gathered on the 2nd Sunday of November, the 13th, with a special guest: Lorena Lombardi, life coach, and last person responsible to the now defunct organism “
Bi Unité Montreal”. She presented herself, talked about the death of her once-famous organism and went on with the month’s subject: intersectionality. The subject spanned the different angles of discrimination (family-based, in professional context and around public instances like law enforcement and health services), then the different layers applicable to that concept (we used the example of stigmas on relationship styles, like polyamory, to add on the classic myths around bisexuality).

New addition to our counseling team!

We are excited to welcome Girolamo (Jerry) Russa as a Life Coach in training. He has been working very hard at Concordia University to complete his Professional and Personal Coach Certification (PPCC). His program is approved by the International Coach Federation (ICF). His type of work requires patience, passion and dedication to helping people find happiness and persevering through life’s challenges.

We are fortunate to have Giro as a kink/alternative lifestyle aware coach since this is still a major obstacle with therapists and counselors today. University programs are still teaching the “old” philosophy of perversions for psychology and medicine. It’s shocking to many students who are currently taking these classes and well versed with the kink/poly/BDSM world. This information is still biased on gender, lack of formal long-term evidence and research, and stigmatizing.

Welcome to Sir Master Marc as our official “Flogging” educator!

Last Sunday marked our first day with Sir Master Marc as our official educator for Flogging. He has been a player and educator in the local Montreal BDSM community for more than 10 years. We are honored to have him with us at the ALCC. Marc is incredibly skilled when it comes to the art of flogging and he’s also an expert at technique, style and knowing what types of floggers to choose.
