Self Bondage

A workshop on self bondage was held on March 13, the first one at the ALCC (the previous had to be rescheduled due to illness).  The workshop was given by Vanessa, (vanessa_fetish on FetLife), who has been performing self bondage for many years.  Self bondage is a dangerous practice, but she gave pointers on how to reduce the risk and how to make it safer. As well she demonstrated how a person can safely put themselves into a self bound hogtie. Having free airways, more than one release, and thinking ahead was reinforced, so that people can reduce their risks performing this.

ALCC at Radical Queer Semaine

On February 25, 2012, the ALCC participated in this years Radical Queer Semaine with a BDSM 101 workshop, given by Sir Kira. Despite the inclement weather and a big party the night before, there was a very decent turnout. The workshop was amazing, and it was pretty clear that those in attendance learned a lot and enjoyed this workshop!

Rope Bondage Group, March 11

There was one clear lesson from this month’s bondage practice group: Practice makes perfect! For myself, I was getting kind of rusty in my knot-tying, so I definitely needed the practice. I learned some cool new rope ties, while sharing my own knowledge too. Everyone was happy to share what they had learnt in an easy-going environment. Actually practicing knots and ties on another human being is invaluable to becoming proficient in bondage. article about ALCC

Annual General Meeting

Sunday March 4th from 1p.m. to 4p.m. our regular Drop-in Day will be reserved for our first AGM. All voting members of the ALCC will have the opportunity to learn all about what we’ve been up to over the last year, decide who our new Board member will be and read our annual report. If you are not a voting or associate member of the ALCC and would like to become one, please sign-up online and click ONLINE FORM or in person at the AGM where we will be providing applications and our orientation before the elections begin. Beverages and snacks will be provided. Join us and help make a difference in the future of the ALCC.

NEW new location!!!

Our new official location is 372 St Catherine Street West (Belgo Building) suite #127, Montreal, H2X 2A1. It is centrally located and only five minutes from Metro Place des Arts. Paid parking is available just out front of the building.

We want to extend our sincere thanks to L’espace for opening its doors to us and their commitment in supporting the ALCC. Unfortunately, as a non-profit without funding, we were unable to make the financial commitment required to remain at L’espace. However, we will continue our partnership and hope to organize a great co-hosted event with L’espace sometime in the future.

ALCC at the 2012 Salon de l’amour

The ALCC was at the 2012 Salon du l’amour et de la seduction from January 20-22, but this year we were in charge of the dungeon and the shows on the dungeon stage! We had the chance to showcase various activities, and as well provide more information to people who otherwise would likely not have been able to obtain it reliably.  Stations included suspension, spanking, flogging, D/s, and vacbed and there were info tables available.

A big huge THANK YOU to the volunteers! It is you who are the ALCC! Without your efforts this past weekend we could not have done this. Your time and effort allowed the ALCC to take on this task, and succeed. Thank you all so very much!

Braving The Cold For Gender Diversity

Despite it being a pretty “darn” cold day, we managed to have a good turnout at the Gender Diversity Group this Sunday, held as usual in the new location of the 2110 Center for Gender Diversity (much thanks to them!)

We discussed a variety of things, from simple things to stuff like the now pulled TV show “Work It” and the tampon ad that not only offended many in the gender variant community but even some cisgen females (those who’ve not had to transition). Also talked about was perhaps setting up a separate night out for the group, perhaps in the village or perhaps at an event. More to come on that as soon as ideas are gathered!

All in all a good group!

Bondage Practice… Can We Say Lotsa Fun?

Bondage practice group was held at Contessa’s place this past Sunday and a nice turn-out it was. Thanks to Sasha, the temporary group leader, for bringing her enthusiasm and very naughty bondage positions that got all of our attention … little did you know lol. Great ties and collaboration by our two regulars, you know who you are! Oh, and welcome to our new attendee who came all the way from Japan… she knows what I mean *wink*. I’m still waiting for your photos from the group… please send!!!

Please note we are looking for a permanent leader for this group. Someone with enthusiasm and charm who is willing to volunteer for 2 hours every month to welcome members to our practice group.
