On a very cold Sunday night the monthly Crossdressers Unite group met. Perhaps because of the cold attendance was sparse this time, and the day will be also changed to a Saturday soon.
Despite the low attendance, we talked about things both related to transgender and other topics as well. One topic that was touched on was acceptance. If we wish to have acceptance and tolerance of us, we must also show acceptance and tolerance to others as well, a topic sparked by some controversial statements made by some members of an Ottawa TG group which one of us was a member but has withdrawn over the comments.
Remember – you do not have to be “out of the closet” to attend the groups, nor do you have to dress. You can come as you wish!
Until next time!
Filling in for Contessa Alura was Vanessa (me lol) on this workshop. It was very well attended, with some regulars and some new faces!
After teaching a few basic knots and a couple of basic hand ties including how to make a rope handcuff, members began practicing their bondage on each other. Books were opened and many practiced some of the ties in them. Some very wonderful looking ties and ropework! For an amateur group they learn quick!
Thank you to all who attended!
On Sunday, Janurary 9th we had our monthly drop-in day. We had a few drop in to say hi and show their support and we also had some stop by to learn more about the ALCCVA. More and more people are finding us, and wanting to know more, this shows that we are succeeding in getting known!
All in all a very good drop-in!
A nice and relaxing Drop in day at the ALCC. Talked and joked and enjoyed some snacks. Great thing about our drop-ins, is that we are there for anybody who feels like coming for the full 3 hours, or even just a few minutes. A great way to connect with open-minded people.
The ALCCVA was invited by Mr. Leather Montreal 2010, Ghislain Rousseau, to a very fun event – the BlacKKnight Cocktail night. It was a sociable, relaxed, yet with play evening mixing the leather/rubber/kink/open-minded communities. Sir Kira, Restrik, Sadistfaction, and myself were there representing the ALCCVA and meeting some amazing people. Mr. Leather was so cordial and fun to be around, I had a great time there! I think we all enjoyed the night, and it certainly was a great example of people being themselves in a welcoming environment. Look at the smile on that face in the picture… that says it all!
The Royal Penthouse held a fun-raiser for the ALCCVA on Saturday the 4th, and we would first like to thank them all for this! To everyone involved with the Royal Penthouse we thank you very, very much! It is a wonderful, beautiful place run by some very great, cool, and accepting people. Again, thank you!
We had a couple of stations set up, a violet wand one with the knowledgable and simply amazing Satanica, and me, Vanessa, with a mummification one. Very understandably the violet wand was very much a success! And even I, yours truly who has been in the lifestyle longer than she cares to think had a chance to experience the violet wand for the first time, and did in fact hit subspace from it. So, for those interested in the violet wand… watch for Satanica’s next workshop! Highly recommended!
For those not familiar with the Royal Penthouse, it has many stations, and is a very classy organization. I was very impressed with everything, from friendliness to quality of station furniture. For those interested in it, stay tuned as contact information will be posted soon!
– Vanessa Fetish
Even after having an exciting weekend in Toronto at an amazing Leather event, Sir Kira graciously and enthusiastically led a great discussion on the Leather Lifestyle and its differences from other Fetish communities. There are many Leather groups existing throughout North America, perhaps so many it could be overwhelming to a beginner, or someone interested in it. Sir Kira’s Leather Lifestyle Group is a perfect place for anybody to learn about this fascinating way of living. She has so many exciting ideas, so many stories, and just such a fun personality that I was so happy to have gone to this group. I’m looking forward to the next meeting and I look forward to learning more and more.
Another great Dark/Erotic Poetry Group meeting. A great range of poetry was read this week. We heard from present day poems, written by some of the members…
We heard from Victorian age poems…
Some Marquis de Sade, of course.
Finally, we heard from very ancient poetry about the goddess Inanna, surprisingly sexy stuff!
Isis and I even did a reading from James Joyce’s Ulysses. She has a wonderful reading voice, and I was happy enough to hold my own, reading the part of the harried Leopold Bloom.
Thank you everyone who participated, this group continues to encourage and foster my on again, off again love of reading.
The Violet Wand is such an interesting and beautiful device just to look at, let alone to play with. Satanica was the highly knowledgeable and fun instructor for this type of electrical play. Her skill and enthusiasm for the Violet Wand made the workshop extremely enjoyable. She explained some of the intricacies of the apparatus, such as types of electrodes, indirect vs. direct action, key safety points, amongst others.
Satanica also had some wonderful advice for play, saying that “communication is the key”.
There seem so many possibilities for the Violet Wand. It does indeed seem that there is no limit apart from your imagination, as Satanica said. Thank you Satanica for showing us what imagination can do!
The workshop started with a brief history of the violet wand and of some of it’s early use. It mainly appeared around the beginning of the 20th century. Some of it’s early use was to treat certain skin problems. Today it’s still in use to dissinfect the skin after removal of black heads or other skin treatment..
Satanica then explained the differences between the old violet wands with a wax core and the newer ones with a ceramic core. After that she started explaining the different types of play with the wand. Including direct contact, indirect contact via the top (dominant) and finally indirect contact via the bottom (submissive).
She then started demonstrating different electrodes on her lovely model. During this she explained the safety factors and risk of violet wand play. 3 main reasons you should not play with a violet wand. 1- You are epileptic. 2- You have heart problems. 3- You have a pacemaker.
She demonstrated the 3 main types of play with different electrodes. All having different levels of intensity and effects. Finally she concluded the workshop on how to clean your wand and how to maintain it in top shape.
A very informative workshop.
