MMMM…. Pasta salad… Smoked Meat… Great Friends!

Saturday July 30th was the ALCC “Potluck In The Park”

Quite a few showed, lots of great chit chat goin on, and lotsa fab food! Smoked meat, 3 kinds of pasta salad, and some great items made by Jody that were of vegan and “carnivore” type!

A beautiful sunny day, not too hot or humid, great company, fab chit chat, what more could you ask for?  This is like a munch in the park! Forget munches in a restaurant! Come to these! Much more personal, and not as many worries about anyone nearby!

Parkin’ It!

On Saturday, May 28th, the ALCC had it’s first “Potluck in the Park” of the summer.  Threatened by rain, we thought we would have to hold it indoors again, but the rain held off! Who says you can’t beat Mother Nature at least once lol!

There was good food, good friends, good chat all around.  From smoked meat to strawberries and much in between, the potluck was simply *fab*!  Mmmmm…. pasta salad!  {insert Homer Simpsonesque drool here!}  And cookies too!

It was great to sit in the park, eat some great nosh, chat about so many different things, and just enjoy the afternoon/evening and the company. Quite a few made it!  If you haven’t attended one yet, you should!

Looking forward to the next one! 😀

Yay for food and friends!

ALCC Potluck, April 23, 2011:

Soon, we will be having our potlucks outdoors again. But certainly not this rainy day! So indoors we discussed several Alternative Lifestyle topics and enjoyed some fresh Samosas, brought by yours truly. But variety being the spice of life, and since this is the THIRD time I’ve brought this same food…point well taken. Next time, I’ll bring something new. Thanks for the great conversation  everybody. From travel to BDSM to relationships. Potluck conversation always goes in interesting directions.

Potluck Pleasantries…

We had another lovely potluck only we are extremly anxious to get them back outside in the park with blue skies, sun, and fresh air. Yes, we’re even fine if the seagulls stop by because we’ve been waiting THAT long ha, ha!

Delicious simosa’s, fresh veggies and dip, and always lots of treats to go around. We had some people from the DM/PM Training course stick around and join us for the potluck. It’s so nice to share with new people and hear their stories.

We’re all very pleased with how nice our potlucks have grown and how it’s become an important day of making connections and seeing new people here at the ALCC.

Thank you to everyone who attended and of course, brought food!

Potluck February 26th

The potluck on Saturday, February 26th was VERY well attended!  Lots of people, sharing food and chatting.  Some showed just for the potluck, and some from the Dungeon Monitor training had remained behind for it. Sandwiches, pizza, chips, pop, and chocolate chip cake with great chit chat!

For those looking for a way to just get to know more in the community in a relaxed atmosphere, this is a good way. Come on by for the next one!

Our last potluck outdoors in the park – Sept 25

What a lovely last potluck in the park. Since the weather will change and of course the days grow shorter, we will be bringing in our potluck to the ALCC room #417. We hope to maybe have a movie to follow a great potluck since lots want to linger and hang out.

There was plenty to eat for all and a great bunch of people who dropped in. A dish that was particularly enjoyed by all were the delicious Imperial Rolls made by Red Rain! We had the chance to discuss ideas for the upcoming fundraiser Candyland (details to follow) and everyone had the chance to offer their ideas.

There was yummy macaroni salad, chicken, chips, cappacino icr cream, fruti snacks, vegetables and dip, and more.

We had our biggest donation at a potluck of $24. Thank you to those who contributed.

See you INDOORS for the next Potluck!!!

Teddy Bear Picnic / Pique-nique aux animaux en peluche! – Aug 28

[La version française est ci-dessous]

Despite scheduling problems due to St. Laurent being closed and free concerts, the ALCC still managed to have their monthly Potluck in the Park! Beautiful weather throughout the early afternoon with us being able to sit on picnic tables provided by the city of Montreal gave us the perfect setting for our TeddyBear Picnic!

We were a small group but that does not matter! Bigger is not always better.

Almost everyone who showed up arrived with a teddy bear or a stuffed animal which made it all the more fun. Perhaps in a couple months time we will have another teddy bear picnic! Just wish I had a camera so we could have had pictures of this past potluck.

It is a shame that the colder weather will be arriving to us in Montreal and soon we will not be able to enjoy the little green park across from the building which houses the ALCC. I do hope that for the next potluck or two that it will still be nice enough out to have it outdoors before having to be indoors all winter!

Hope to see everyone at the next potluck!
