Dawson College’s THE HIVE hosts Alternative Lifestyles Panel

Join us at Dawson on behalf of the Gender Advocacy Centre called “The Hive” for a discussion-based panel to demystify marginalized (queer, trans, asexual, etc) communities, alternative lifestyles (polyamory, BDSM, etc) and practices.

The panel facilitator, Contessa Alura from the ALCC, will lead introduce our topic, herself and our two other lovely panelists,  Erin and Natasha Lilliman.

The event will be split into three parts. First we will begin with a general introduction of all three of our panelists, followed by a section clarifying what alternative lifestyles are, and finally Q&A with group discussion.

The event will be free to everyone who would like to attend. It will take place at Dawson College, in Oliver’s lounge (2.C17).

To honour the new Venus in Fur production by Centaur Theatre, this Friday at Club Sin (Cafe Cleopatra), the ALCC will be bringing you “all about BDSM!”

Contessa Alura will be presenting a short stage skit with the lovely Ms Ena. All about a real couple exploring BDSM for the first time, how this story ends will be yours to discover!

Vanessa Cummings will be our lovely hostess and happy to answer all your kinky questions.

There will be play stations, great music, and lots of sexy people to meet and mingle with! Join us.

Aug 24 Potluck Location Change – Please note!!!

Due to construction, we have changed the location for this month’s Potluck in the Park to Parc La Fontaine. We will meet at 2pm at the fountain near the bridge. We will have our banner up to help you locate us!

Please note that the ALCC will be closed for the month of August for renovations. We will re-open Sept. 5.

We will still be hosting our Potluck in the Park on Sunday, Aug. 24.

2014 Annual General Meeting – March 2

The ALCC will hold its annual general meeting (AGM).

Sunday March 2nd, 2014 from 5pm – 7pm.

Present will be:
– board members
– minutes of last years AGM
– financial report
– state of workshops and groups

Members will have a chance to:

– accept new board members or challenge to run for position (only full members may run)
– ask the board questions regarding the ALCC
– make suggestions

Montreal Pride 2013

The ALCC/CCVA was at the Montreal Pride festivities again, at Community Day and in the Parade. Thank you to those who helped at the table, and thank you to those who marched along with us!

Community Day was great! A chance to meet people and talk about what the ALCC/CCVA is and does and make as well a lot of connections with local groups! It was hot in the sun, but we all had a great time!

The Parade was FABULOUS! Again near the leather and rubber community, and marched behind the leather flag! Vanessa got the crowd going when they got too quiet, encouraging them to make noise! Lots of presence! Like a rock star! Needless to say I think her voice was hoarse afterwards. But she says it was most definitely worth it! And all this with a broken knee cap! I guess once a soldier always lol. She soldiered on well.

We look forward to next years Pride!
